Christmas With The Chipmunks

The Chipmunks. Props to JenInTosa for the last Suggestion of 'Elf' and now props to Mithrandr for the Chipmunk suggestion. I'm not sure if he really likes this cd, or if he hates and wanted to make me listen to it. Can't say for sure. What's odd, is I actually know a few people who really do love this album. It's a bit of a novelty, with some classic tracks sung to the tune of the chipmunks. If high pitched, out of tune vocals are not your thing, you may want to avoid this one. Or if you are easily irritated by things like that. It does get a little old listening to it over and over. I think if you mixed a track in here or there, it's very tolerable. If you listen to this cd start to finish, they all start to sound the same. The big hitter however, is track one, 'The Chipmunk Song'. It certainly is easily identified - and it seems around here, you get to hear that song quite a bit on the radio. Maybe it's my generation? I'm not 100% sure when this came out - but it had to have been in the 80's at some point. I think that's when the chipmunks were at their all time high in popularity. If so, I think a lot of late 20 somethings identify with this from childhood. If that's the case, you totally get a free pass. I mean, everyone has something from their childhood they have an irrational love for. Mine is either Ninja Turtles cartoons or Punky Brewster. Oh, or maybe Ghostwriter. Yeah! Anyway, if you're in the festive and cartoonish mood, this is for you. Otherwise, maybe don't listen to this one all the way through!

  4. Holiday scale man!

I don't think this is super awful. I mean, kids love it I'm sure. It just doesn't suit my adult tastes.
